Porous materials intended for noise reduction, will be produced and characterized in this project. On the one hand, a rolling process will be used to manipulate the structure of the porous materials in order to create a graded and /or anisotropic porosity. On the other hand, the (micro) structure and mechanical properties of the porous materials shall be analyzed to elucidate the interdependence between processing, (micro) structure, acoustic functionality and mechanical integrity.
