"Braunschweig and the World – Networking of Teacher Education Worldwide"
Against the background of the increasing cultural, linguistic and religious diversity among pupils, the TU Braunschweig aims to develop and expand prospective teachers’ intercultural competence.
The corresponding project “Braunschweig and the World – Networking of Teacher Education Worldwide” is developing a competence-oriented study program, which enables the acquisition of intercultural competence both abroad and at home. Exchange structures for school internships in different countries are created. In addition, blended learning units based on current, dynamic models of intercultural competence are developed giving the opportunity to prepare a stay abroad and to conduct the so-called internationalization at home.
The project is led and conducted by Prof. Dr. Katja Koch from the Institute of Educational Science and Prof. Dr. Rüdiger Heinze from the Institute of English and American Studies.
"Go out - Come in - Institutionalization of exchange structures for teacher education at the TU Braunschweig"
Following up the project “Braunschweig and the World” and the necessity of developing and expanding prospective teachers’ intercultural competencies, the TU Braunschweig pursues the incorporation of a long-term internationalized teacher education, supported by the DAAD program Lehramt.International.
The corresponding project "Go out - Come in - Institutionalization of exchange structures for teacher education at the TU Braunschweig" aims to anchor existing exchange structures and increases the range of participating subjects. The goals are the development and testing of a long-term, reciprocal exchange program with selected partner universities, the increase in student and faculty mobility, and the profile-specific provision of internationalized study programs that link study and internship abroad. Blended learning units offer the acquisition of intercultural competence within the framework of Internationalization at Home and preparatory, accompanying and reflection courses for school internships abroad.
The project is led and conducted by Prof. Dr. Katja Koch from the Institute of Educational Science and Prof. Dr. Rüdiger Heinze from the Institute of English and American Studies.
