What‘s your nicest memory of Braunschweig and do you have a favorite place?

My favourite memories are the many lunch breaks I spent together with my now wife and former colleague in the canteen. The botanical garden is certainly one of my favourite places.

Reasons why the TU Braunschweig is a great place to study:

The balance of tradition and modernity of a medieval city in the 21st century.

Describe the time of your studies in 3 words:

  • educational
  • inspiring
  • bonding

Which contents of your studies can you still use in your career today?

I can actually still use everything I learnt during my studies. With the exception of Latin. I learnt a lot about my subjects, about pedagogical work and the conditions for successful learning. Above all, however, I have learned to organise myself and my work, to professionalise myself and to build lifelong relationships.

Are you still in touch with former fellow students? Do you see each other and if so, how often?

Yes, we meet regularly at events organised by our institute and also a lot in private.

What advice would you give current students for their personal career planning?

  1. Set yourself challenges.
  2. Take your time.
  3. Commit yourself to what is important to you.

In one sentence - In the future I wish the TU Braunschweig:

Lots of love and support for the Humanities.
