What‘s your nicest memory of Braunschweig and do you have a favorite place?

Paddling on the Oker and the Staatstheater Braunschweig (free admission for students!).

Reasons why the TU Braunschweig is a great place to study:

A beautiful city with lots of green, small enough to reach everything on foot or by bike and large enough to (more or less) cover all your everyday needs.

Describe the time of your studies in 3 words:

  • interdisciplinary
  • nurturing
  • exciting

Which contents of your studies can you still use in your career today?

Independent work in general and scientific work as well as the writing of scientific publications from the times of my Master's thesis.

Are you still in touch with former fellow students? Do you see each other and if so, how often?

Yes, I meet up with my group of friends from university days once or twice a year for "Feuerzangenbowle", trips, or barbecues.

What advice would you give current students for their personal career planning?

  1. Plan a stay abroad - think about the options as early as possible!
  2. Get a taste of as many fields of work as possible, e.g. via internships or final theses.
  3. Be open to leaving your comfort zone.

In one sentence - In the future I wish the TU Braunschweig:

Rising student numbers and the continuation of the high quality of education (with a focus on more English-language programmes).
