What‘s your nicest memory of Braunschweig and do you have a favorite place?

Braunschweig is lively, but pleasant to live in. I like the Magniviertel best.

Reasons why the TU Braunschweig is a great place to study:

Offers good opportunities to learn about current methods and issues in engineering, but potential for improvement here and there (e.g. new seats for some lecture halls, more software licenses).

Describe the time of your studies in 3 words:

  • tough
  • exciting
  • friendly atmosphere

Which contents of your studies can you still use in your career today?

The skill to deal with problems, stress and people with different backgrounds. Also knowledge in the field of mechanical engineering, fundamentals of mechanics, fluid mechanics, CAD, product development processes.

Are you still in touch with former fellow students? Do you see each other and if so, how often?

Yes, I met my friends in Braunschweig mainly through club meetings at the university and we kept in touch. The meetings are irregular but frequent.

What advice would you give current students for their personal career planning?

  1. Know yourself and what you like, stand up for yourself and have team spirit at the same time.
  2. Don't just follow what's famous and big. Smaller companies also offer something. Find the place where you feel comfortable and where there are opportunities for development in the areas that are important to you.
  3. Don't be afraid to try things out and to change tasks or locations, and stay open to learning new things.

In one sentence - In the future I wish the TU Braunschweig:

Even more friendly and people-oriented staff who give students space to express their needs and take them seriously.

My Braunschweig alma mater and its students are welcome to contact me for:

  • Information about my professional field and tasks

  • Sharing experience in connection with application processes and career start
