I have so many great memories that I can hardly limit myself to just one. From the many great festivals such as the Christmas market and the Magnifest, to the beautiful city centre, the Heidbergsee as a meeting place in summer and the great bars such as Soldekk, there is so much to discover in Braunschweig. But a real insider tip would be the Botanical Garden of the university. It's a great place to relax and prepare for an exam in lush green surroundings.
A very student-friendly city with lots of opportunities, short distances by bike and green oases in the city such as the lake in the south of Braunschweig. In short, everything you need.

Yes, only with a handful, but I see them once a year. I actually got my current position through a fellow student from Braunschweig, who is now my direct colleague.
