In my opinion, individual personalities count the most. The lecturers usually work very practically minded and are motivated to pass on their knowledge to the students.
I apply my knowledge of controlling, corporate accounting and financing on an almost daily basis. At the same time, the methodological skills from my PhD days also help me in my job. After all, a comprehensible and scientific approach to complex issues is key for my job.

Start early with an internship (even in the second semester)! This way you can quickly find out what you like and (also) what you definitely don't want to do later! Once you have found your dream job, you can tailor your studies to it. For example, by attending relevant lectures, getting involved in student initiatives or choosing topics for your final thesis.
