What‘s your nicest memory of Braunschweig and do you have a favorite place?

My studies were a great time in my life and I have many fond memories of them, especially of the many lovely people I was in contact with. I loved going to concerts or, for example, the literature festival that was staged at the time.

Reasons why the TU Braunschweig is a great place to study:

In hindsight, without knowing for sure what it is like today:

- manageable size and therefore quite short distances

- affordable rents

- nice central campus

- informal and friendly atmosphere in a rather small degree programme

Which contents of your studies can you still use in your career today?

- knowledge about counselling and coaching

- the self-confidence to manage challenging subjects with time and motivation

- the experience of having to actively seek career orientation and the freedom to do so

- international experience (semester abroad)

Are you still in touch with former fellow students? Do you see each other and if so, how often?

Yes, but only occasionally.

What advice would you give current students for their personal career planning?

1. Check out different areas of work and the various job roles within these areas.
2. Try things out and gain practical experience, e.g. with internships or part-time jobs - even if that means prolonging your studies a little.
3. Reflect on what you are learning inside and outside your degree programme and what makes you tick.
