Project Description
After examining the largest vehicle group of patrol cars with approx. 2,500 vehicles in the Lower Saxony Police fleet as part of the project "lautlos&einsatzbereit", the focus is now on the second largest vehicle group of large patrol cars with approx. 900 vehicles in urban and rural areas. On the basis of extensive data collection in the vehicles with regard to their mobility requirements, the question is to be answered as to whether electrified vehicles are suitable under extreme conditions, but also for general use by the police, and what challenges an electrified fleet entails. In addition, the aim is to gain further insights into the functional, economic and ecological conditions of the police fleet and the transferability to other fleets of authorities and organizations with and without security tasks at federal and state level.
