Together with students from our courses “Anlagenmanagement” and ”Nachhaltigkeit in Produktion und Logistik”, Patrick Oetjegerdes, Yannik Graupner, Tjard Bätge, and Sophie Kuhl were given the opportunity to visit the first hydrogen-based direct reduction plant at Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH. Also, the newly built hot-dip galvanizing plant (Feuerverzinkung 3) was visited.
The guided tour offered exciting insights into the processes of low-CO2 steel production and hot-dip galvanizing.
The visit was concluded by a get-together in the visitors' center with employees from various departments of Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH. We would like to thank everyone involved for the great event and are pleased about our successful cooperation.
