The Volkswagen Foundation and the State of Lower Saxony have recently announced to promote the battery cluster in the region Braunschweig with a 7.5 million euro grant. One part of the activities is the establishment of a graduate school on the topic of circular battery production. The Chair of Production and Logistics of Professor Thomas Spengler will be part of the graduate school with a PhD project on "Economies of scale in circular battery production" and investigate the economic aspects of the capacity ramp-up for circular battery production.
