From May, 20-24 in 2019 three workshops were held at the Sutardjia Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology (SCET) at the University of California Berkeley. Within this framework, empirical results of a spin-off from the project MetroPlant were evaluated. The research focus is on the framework conditions for the development of high-tech entrepreneurship activities and the importance of location planning and development in the early foundation phases of start-ups. Herein, there is a great interest in the San Francisco Bay Area as a region with a high research intensity and unique prerequisites for high-tech entrepreneurship activities as well as the related similarities to the region Braunschweig.
It is a joint research between the AIP and the Entrepreneurship Hub of Professor Dr. Reza Asghari at the Technische Universität Braunschweig. The workshops were organized and held by Christopher Dormeier and David Kik. The guests were representatives from the fields of the regional economic development, entrepreneurship and investment.
Christopher Dormeier is a Mechanical Engineering student at the TU Braunschweig and was a Visiting Student Researcher at UC Berkeley from September 2018 to February 2019. During this time, Christopher Dormeier conducted numerous expert surveys in the San Francisco Bay Area.
