For many years, the academic staff have come together twice a year for a workshop of several days, where projects and approaches to doctoral studies are presented and questions are discussed and debated. This enables a regular exchange with researchers from similar research areas. The workshop also offers the opportunity to coordinate the Institute's orientation and strategies. Prof. Spengler is familiar with the format from his own doctoral days and the open exchange about research projects is very important to him.
In September 2021, after a long time - and in compliance with COVID-19 related hygiene rules - the socalled "Bastelstunde" could be held again in presence, to everyone's delight. In addition to exciting scientific discussions, there was also room for personal exchange away from the daily research routine during football golf (in the pouring rain).
The next workshop will take place in February 2022.
