The CIRP Life Cycle Engineering Conference was held at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana from May 7-9, 2019. The theme of this year's conference was "Advancing Industrial Sustainabiliy" and addressed issues in the field of designing sustainable production systems. The AIP was represented with two presentations: The lecture by Christian Thies addressed the "Social Sustainability Shotspots in the Supply Chain of Lithium-Ion Batteries". Christoph Johannes gave a lecture on "Energy-oriented production planning with time-dependent energy prices".
Articles on the lectures were published in a special issue of "Procedia CIRP":
- Thies, C.; Kieckhäfer, K.; Spengler, T. S.; Sodhi, M. S. (2019): Assessment of social sustainability hotspots in the supply chain of lithium-ion batteries
- Johannes, C.; Wichmann, M. G.; Spengler, T. S. (2019): Energy-oriented production planning with time-dependent energy prices
