The library - a space where knowledge is stored and donated at the same time. A place where learning and teaching are served at the same time. A platform that offers the constant exchange of information and the innovative creation of it. The possibilities of the library as a space are manifold. On the occasion of the 275th birthday of the Braunschweig University Library, we would like to celebrate how an institution thereby develops and unfolds over the course of many years.
In doing so, a chronologically recounted history of the individual libraries or related institutions should not be the goal. Rather, we want to use the concept of "knowledge space" to approach different aspects of the libraries' past and present, which will provide innovative insights into facets that may have been little known until now. Knowledge space encompasses both physical and virtual space. Perhaps you can think of special personalities, curious objects, memorable experiences or extraordinary records that make your institution a special knowledge space?
If so, you are hereby cordially invited to a blog parade in which you can shed light on the unique sides of that significant knowledge space that you call your workplace.
1. write a post about any topic related to libraries or similar knowledge spaces and publish it on your blog. Feel free to be inspired by the term "knowledge space".(If you do not run a blog yourself, feel free to send us your post to bianca.lackmann(at)tu-braunschweig.de. We will publish the post under your name in our UBlog).
2. link this call here to the blogparade in your post.
Leave a comment below this call with the link to your post. Feel free to briefly describe the content of your post to generate interest.
4. optionally, you can promote both the blog parade and your own post on social media. Use the hashtag #UBiläum275.
If you know potential participants who are interested in taking part in the blog parade, please feel free to forward this call.
A blog parade is not only an ideal way to deepen the exchange among each other and to actively network, but also to give the public a previously unknown insight into librarianship and thus to be able to share the appeal of this knowledge space with the masses.
Contribute to the celebration by writing your entry at any time from 02/05/2023 to 08/25/2023 at the latest. We look forward to an exciting journey through the library knowledge space!
