The Media Lab is a working and experimental space at the heart of the central campus. Lecturers, students and staff from institutes and administration work together with the Media Lab team to test new media technologies for use at the university - from simple tools to complex setups. As part of the Project House, the Media Lab offers a platform for a lively exchange of knowledge and experience on media-supported teaching, learning and working at TU Braunschweig. It brings together the most important didactic and technical information on solution approaches and application scenarios. With its diverse event formats, the Media Lab enriches campus life at the university. The Media Lab team works together with the university to improve teaching, learning and (collaborative) work through the use of media technologies at TU Braunschweig.
The Media Lab officially opens for business in the winter semester. We cordially invite you to come along to one of our opening events.
10.12.2024, 9-12 a.m., Media Lab (face-to-face event)
With the AI toolbox, you can create visual materials as well as texts. These can be used for internal presentations, handouts or social media, for example. However, the possibilities of AI in image generation are still limited and should be used with caution. In this practice-oriented introductory event, you will learn about the potential and limitations of the image module as well as important legal aspects for the use of images at TU Braunschweig. You will also learn strategies for formulating good prompts. During the event, you will actively try out the tool and reflect together on its possible applications for your work.
In cooperation with the Professional and Personnel Development. Registration in the course of "Bilder generieren mit der KI Toolbox" on Stud.IP.
13.02.2025, 9-12 a.m., Media Lab (face-to-face event)
AI applications are already being used in many places at TU Braunschweig - for example to translate an email, generate images for the institute's website or to find ideas for an information event in a team. This results in great practical examples, but also many new questions and challenges. We want to look at and discuss both together in the AI workshop. You will learn about tried-and-tested applications of the AI toolbox and the associated challenges and look at possible solution strategies, such as advanced techniques for writing prompts. You are also welcome to bring your own examples and questions. We will also take a look at the bigger picture: What AI applications beyond the toolbox could be exciting for us at TU Braunschweig and what is the future of AI tools?
In cooperation with the Professional and Personnel Development. Registration in the event "KI-Werkstatt für Fortgeschrittene" on Stud.IP.
We look forward to your visit! You can drop by at any time on 11 November from 12 to 4 pm. We will introduce you to the Media Lab in person and answer your questions.
We will set up test stations for you on the topic of artificial intelligence, focussing on the GITZ KI toolbox and the KI4ALL project. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Just drop by!
The Multimedia Department of the GITZ and the Media Lab will be presenting current and proven devices and technologies - for you to try out and touch on site in the Media Lab. Get to know the technical possibilities and how they can be used didactically in your studies.
AI and photography, short films, gaming and more: As part of the KI4ALL project, we are organising the first online festival "International Cultural Exchange on Media and AI" together with the University of Rhode Island. You can already find a preliminary programme at the URI.
Our Remote Festival continues. Participation is possible online and, above all, on site in the Media Lab in the old building. More information will follow shortly.
