Candidates for the Senate

Kassandra Kampen

My name is Kassandra Kampen and I have been a research assistant at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering since October 2023. Previously, I successfully completed my Bachelor's and Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at TU Braunschweig and am therefore familiar with the various perspectives of the university.

As part of my position, I am responsible for part of the teaching for the Institute of Production Metrology, I am doing my doctorate at the Institute of Acoustics and Dynamics in the field of minimally lubricated friction contacts and I work together with the Institute of Particle Technology. Through my contact with various institutes, I am committed to their cooperation. In this way, know-how is shared and everyone benefits. By promoting communication, not only is help discovered for my own project, but ideas and collaborations for new projects also emerge. Furthermore, as a faculty ambassador, I am actively involved in attracting new students and would like to make the university as such more attractive and visible.

I would be delighted if you would support me in this and let me know your concerns and wishes.

Neele Menter

I'm Neele and I work as a research assistant at the Bet Tfila Research Center for Jewish Architecture in Europe. I studied architecture and Building Archaeology/Heritage Conservation in Berlin and Bangkok and have been working here at the TU since fall 2023. My research focuses on critical heritage conservation theory, I am particularly interested in the intersections of state heritage conservation and social/political processes in Germany, France and Poland.

My political activity at TU started a year ago when I joined the Circle Diversity Strategy to assist in creating a strategy to make TU more inclusive for all people. This Circle work has now ended and I have been involved in the Circle Internationalization since this summer, where we are working to identify problems and develop visions and missions for how TU can better meet the needs of international students and staff, as well as existing and future international collaborations. Another major topic discussed in the Circle deals with easier access to exchanges and cooperations abroad for students and employees who have grown up in Germany or have lived here for a long time.

I'm taking all the impressions I've gathered in the Circles and in my work in general to the Senate and am committed to address our needs! I would be delighted and grateful if you would give me your support!

Christian Wacker

I would like to represent the interests of academic staff in the central committees, in the near future. In my view, appropriate representation of the scientific staff (WiMi) is absolutely essential, even if working as a WiMi does not always make it easy to prioritize these tasks - the Senate in particular is highly relevant as a central body at TU Braunschweig. At this point, I would like to stand for election in order to make a contribution through myself, as the next few years promise to bring a constant stream of new challenges.

About myself: After completing my doctorate this year, I am now a postdoc at the IWF in the field of manufacturing technologies and process automation and have therefore already been able to gain a lot of “WiMi” experience at the TU Braunschweig in recent years and have been able to help shape various exciting scientific, but especially organizational and interdisciplinary challenges and developments.
