Description

Subproject A5

The major goal of this subproject is to investigate the aero-acoustic performance of permeable materials for laminar and turbulent flows by pore-scale DNS- and LES computations within the porous materials and in their corresponding boundary layers. To this end, we will conduct a large number of time-dependent simula-tions based on the cumulant version of the Lattice-Boltzmann method in highly complex three-dimensional tomography-based flow geometries, which for the turbulent cases, will provide turbulence statistics for subprojects A1, A7 and B5 for calibrating their respective spatially homogenized models.
