Transportation Engineering is a consecutive, i.e. building on each other, Bachelor's-Master's degree programme at engineering level. The Transportation Engineering degree programme trains the future transportation engineers. It starts with the 6-semester Bachelor's degree programme.
The Transportation Engineering degree programme trains future transportation engineers. The programme offers exciting tasks and career prospects in very different fields of work. From urban and regional planning, to the planning and construction of vehicles and transport facilities, to the development of new traffic management methods.
After completion of the programme with the Bachelor's thesis, the university degree "Bachelor of Science" (B. Sc.) Transportation Engineering is awarded. Subsequently, in the four semesters of the Master's programme, the knowledge can be deepened and special knowledge for an individual qualification profile can be acquired. Upon completion of the programme and successful completion of the Master's examination (incl. Master's thesis), the university degree "Master of Science" (M. Sc.) in Transportation Engineering is awarded.
Professionalisation
Both degree programmes include both specialised internships to acquire specific knowledge for the professional environment and a professionalisation area in which key competences such as project management, languages or presentation techniques are acquired.
What prospects do graduates have?
Bachelor's graduates possess sound knowledge and skills for the professional handling of tasks relevant to transport.
Graduates of the Master's degree programme have problem-solving skills and implement them independently with their specialist knowledge. Their integrative mix of generalist and specialist enables them to take on strategic and responsible activities, especially for a later function in management.
