The topic of the lecture "Hydrogen as an energy carrier" deals with the element number 1 from the point of view of its physical-chemical properties. Hydrogen in itself is not a primary energy carrier - wherever it is consumed, it must initially be produced. Accordingly, a colour theory follows the detailed presentation of the ways of hydrogen production and H2 use, especially in the transport sector. Storage in gaseous, liquid and solid form is dealt with in more detail in terms of energy technology, followed by storage in mixed form. Chemical-physical storage in metal hydrides, complex metalhydrides and MOFs is taught. The power-to-gas concept is presented as a possible storage form for alternating renewable energy production and thus exemplary for the entire hydrogen cycle economy. Examples from the transport sector round off this lecture and span the arc to mobile application.
