On May 1, 2020 Jessicia Agarwal changed to our institute from her preivious domain, the Max-Planck-Institute for Solar System Research in Göttingen. The appointment as Professor at the IGEP was facilitated by the financial support of the Volkswagen foundation, granted to outstanding scientists in the framework of a Lichtenberg-Professorship.
Dr. Agarwal is working in the field of asteroidal and cometary research using telescope observations (e.g. Hubble) and spacecrafts missions (ROSETTA) as well as numerical simulations/modelling. Her special interest is in the field of dust emissions of small celestial bodies and their evidence of the inner composition and ice content of small bodies as well as the analysis of dust activity causes like e.g. collisions and rotation changes.
